When you register a domain name, you are requested to give a valid postal address, email and telephone number as per the policies approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). This info, however, is not kept only by the domain name registrar, but is accessible to the public on WHOIS check web sites too, so anybody can see your details and some people may not be comfortable with that fact. As a result, lots of registrars have introduced the so-called Whois Privacy Protection service, which conceals the client’s details and upon a WHOIS check, people will view the details of the registrar, not the domain owner’s. This service is also called Whois Privacy Protection or Privacy Protection, but all these names refer to the exact same service. As of now, most of the Top-Level Domains around the world allow Whois Privacy Protection to be added, but there are still country-specific extensions that don’t support this option.
Whois Privacy Protection in Shared Hosting
You can effortlessly enable Whois Privacy Protection for any domain name that you’ve registered with our company in case you have a shared hosting
account with us. This can be achieved through the same Hepsia Control Panel, via which you manage the hosting account itself, so you will not have to log in and out of different user interfaces. In the very same section where all your active domains will be listed, there will be an “Whois Privacy Protection” icon for each domain whose extension supports this service. The status of that icon will quickly show you whether the Whois Privacy Protection service is activated for a given domain or not and by clicking that icon you can add the service if you have not done so during the account activation procedure. Moreover, you’ll also be able to renew or to disable the Whois Privacy Protection service for any domain using the exact same icon and the update will take effect immediately.
Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you have a semi-dedicated server
account with us and you register a domain name under it, you can add our Whois Privacy Protection service without effort. This requires just several clicks of the mouse in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Registered Domains section, through which you administer everything associated with your semi-dedicated hosting account. This is where you can see all your registered domain names and for each one of them you will see an “Whois Privacy Protection” button, using which you can order, renew or remove the service. Of course, this can be done only with generic and country-code top-level domain name extensions that are Whois Privacy Protection-eligible and you will be able to see this in advance, so that you won’t end up buying a service that we can’t provide.
